Semi Independent Living

Semi-independent living 16 -18

In addition to supported living services, at 1st Healthcare, we also offer semi independent living services for young care leavers with low to complex needs. This applies to young people with challenging behaviour, those with diagnosed or suspected ADHD conditions and other emotional or mental issues that have caused situations where accommodation and support are needed. This also includes support for young ex-offenders and those with high-risk situations due to gang affiliation or grooming. Our staff undergo continuous training and skills progression in order to provide the highest quality of support to our service users.

Our main approach to support is to initially identify current needs and create a new agreed support plan with measurable targets using our care management system (solariscareware.com) to deliver individualized support based on the assessed needs of our young people. 1st Healthcare plans to ensure safe accommodation and a pathway to a sustainable future and self -independence by supporting the development of skills and inherent ability. We aim to develop our young people by instilling a culture of self -worth and future progression. Education /training remains a major target for our clients.

Floating Support (18-25)

We provide a step - down service where care leavers can continue to receive support and accommodation after legally becoming adults. This is available under the request of the commissioning local authorities who find that these individuals are still in need of support. Accommodation is provided, usually in the form of a house share provision where 5 or more hours of support work are arranged.
